Please respond back to [email protected] or call me on (925) 973-0000 Ext 216. *Note : Must Be Local To NJ Only...!!!!!!!* *Job Title : Network Engineer* *Location : Middletown, NJ* *Duration : 12+ Months Contract* *Must Haves:* At least 5 years as a network system test engineer, with definite hands-on experience with provisioning, testing & troubleshooting features and issues on Cisco and Juniper routers 5+ years of experience in certification testing (test tools ex: IXIA, Spirant, Ad Tech tools) Ability to decode and analyze packets at the packet and protocol level Ability to provide Tier 4 support for operations in a production environment Very strong knowledge in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and IPV6 protocols Hands on knowledge of Cisco 12000 series and/or Cisco 7609 Command line hands on knowledge of Juniper routers and switches including: M320 and 10GE* and MX-80 platform Working knowledge of SNMP, including MIBS and TRAPS *Plusses:* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Knowledge of Cisco CRS-1 platform *Day to Day : *Looking for a strong Network Engineer who will be performing configuration development, certification testing, and Tier 4 support for a large Telecom client. Our client is going to be upgrading their network to the ASR9000 has need for expertise on the MX 960 platform with 10GE and someone to work closely with systems developers in the project to support the end-to-end environment. Experience in testing is crucial for this position as 70% of their time will be allocated to certification testing of protocols, policies, ACL filters, packets, etc. They will be using IXIA, Spirant, and/or Ad Tech tools to perform this testing. Essecntially, their job is to try and find out “what could go wrong” and provide the solution before going into production. They will be looking in the legs and logs of background traffic of 750,000 BGP routes, as well as OSPF, IPV6, TCP/IP etc. Our candidate should also have experience providing Tier 4 production support for operations. They will spend 30% of their time troubleshooting the actual production environment and interfacing with operations. They will detect issues in the field, diagnose them, and help lead to their solution. They should also know best practices of thorough documentation and bug tracking systems. They need to understand the process of testing, and be able to find bugs and document those bugs.
