Phone screen followed by In-person interview Need two professional references from recent projects Experience Level: Minimum of 8 yrs exp Job Description: Our client has engaged in the construction of a Data Center with a Tier 3 level of reliability requiring redundant systems, security and control of site. The Data Center project includes but is not limited to facility floor plan, computer room layout and specifications, and data center operations. The new project manager will lead the second initiative up through final construction, with both project managers reporting to the Program Manager. Current data center operations will change to obtain the enhancements available with two active data centers. The Project Manager will work closely with business units to migrate infrastructure and applications between the two sites, and to formalize and implement a rigorous and re-applicable model for high quality, transparent and cost effective delivery of services. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Specific tasks will be assigned by the Director of Infrastructure Services. These tasks include but are not limited to: Responsible for managing the overall project and its deliverables. Work collaboratively with management, business representatives, vendors, consultants, and project team to define and mutually understand project scope and obtain stakeholder sign-off. · Work closely with staff to define and refine the appropriate migration methodologies. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks. · Work with Infrastructure Planning Group and Facilities Management team to ensure that appropriate infrastructure is in place for equipment that will be co-located Track and manage the project schedule and task details included in the project plan. Analyze actual performance against plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives. Control the planning and execution of activities and resources to ensure that cost, time and quality goals are met. Accept accountability for successful project delivery; monitor project health and escalate or mitigate issues as appropriate. Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original project specifications, scope or deliverables. Adhere to PMI project management methodologies/procedures. Maintain current and accurate documentation using the Clarity documentation tools. Ensures interdependencies between the consolidation project and other program initiatives are managed effectively MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Interested parties must demonstrate that they have prior data center creation or data center expansion project management experience. We are particularly interested in individuals with recent experience with Tier III data centers of at least 20,000 sq ft of computer room space. The must demonstrate that they have led at least one Data Center build out from project initiation up through final construction. Strong Microsoft Project skills Proficient in project planning, organizing, team motivation and delegation. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Goal-oriented, needs little direction. Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment which changes regularly. Ability to integrate information from multiple sources in order to anticipate issues and resolve problems. Experience with the creation, execution and management of 3rd party vendor and consulting contracts. Demonstrated experience in management of complex/cross functional IT projects, including experience with business and technical issues. Expertise in information technology disciplines such as hardware, operating systems, virtualization, networking, storage, and security concepts. Logical understanding of data center processes and end to end IT infrastructure components / architecture Must be able to express findings and recommendations clearly, at different levels of management, both verbally and in writing. Solid interpersonal skills with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort. Prior experience managing very large programs between $20 million and $100 million · Direct working experience in data center consolidation, migration and expansion programs with specific experience in active/active/failover service delivery, system components, business expectations, application migrations, and tool integration.
