Title : Project Manager/Data Modeler
with investment banking

Functional Responsibilities:
Project management -Organization of the data modeling effort that combines the
firm's inventory and P&L data models
Data modeling for the end state PC data warehouse - Candidate is responsible
for understanding and modeling a single data warehouse created from all PC data
sources. A determination must be made to the feasibility of implementing the
change in current systems or moving the request into the overall design of the
strategic systems (e.g. Opera, DART, etc.)
Relationship Management - Develop & Maintain client relationships with Product
Control line Management and colleagues in IT & SPC. Partner with business
leaders to develop an integrated business unit and technology plan. Manage
delivery expectations. Review performance metrics with clients. Manage vendor
relationships and adjust service levels to maximize value to the business.
Review vendor and service provider's metrics, engaging with them to improve
performance
Adhere to Industry & Firm wide Software Standards- Adhere to sound development
and change management standards and ensure that they are followed. Actively
promote and contribute to development of value added technical standards and
procedures. Manage the enforcement of SDLC+ and the use of Mercury Quality
Center for software defects & remediation
Technical Design - Lead development of design and architectural documents that
leverage expertise from multiple domains. Ensure that design reviews are
conducted and that future designs are leveraged within the department and
subdivision. Lead development of technical design and architectural strategies
at the department and subdivision levels. Contribute to the firm strategies.
Required Skills:
Very Strong knowledge of UNIX internals
Very Strong knowledge and usage of Object oriented design patterns
Application Development Management
Project management
Software Discipline methodology (e.g. CMM or similar)
Strong Database Technology Principles; especially Data Warehouse design
Strong Software Language Experience (e.g. .net, J2EE, etc)
Quality Assurance & testing discipline
Strong knowledge of Product Control P&L process
Strong knowledge of Financial Products and how they are traded, processed and
accounted
Desired Skills:
Data modeling
Exposure to current vendor market (Oracle, Windows development tools)
General knowledge of fixed income and equity products
Personal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealing within IT and with
end users
Clear communication and documentation of Business Process
Self-motivated
Even tempered
Team-player
Ability to multi-task
Tolerance for change
WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Experience/Background
- 15 years of application development experience, preferably in a large
corporation with a demonstrated ability to navigate large, complex
organizations to get work done
- Very strong Database design and methodology background
- Management of multiple projects that have full systems lifecycle
simultaneously
- Extensive experience in preparation of status & project cost/benefits
to managing Director level personnel
- Strong Data warehouse experience
- Several years experience of applications delivery in Financial Industry
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree in computer science or comparable quantitative field such as
engineering, math, or science.
