Position : Android QA Tester / Enginer (Mobile QA Experience, EXPERT in Google Android OS and Monkey (or Super Monkey) tools) Location : Redwood City, CA Duration : 6 Months Hourly rate : DOE *Position Overview*: We have a position within Global Test Center Americas for a Product Response Engineer to work on phone projects. This Engineer will be primarily assigned to plan, execute, and debug automated software stability tests thoughout the software development cycle. *Day-to-Day Overview*: The selected candidate will work independently to analyze requirements and specifications to create software stability test cases necessary for customer acceptance and product launch activities. The test engineer is expected to contribute significantly to the stability test strategy and lab preparations across multiple global locations. This includes mastering the required tools, requesting new internal tools, preparing lab equipment, and establishing communications across sites. For this competency one would have MSFT Hopper testing experience and KITL debugging as well as experience with a test suite called LTK (Logo Test Kit) which is a Microsoft specific requirement to certify with NSTL. In addition, a truly versatile Stability Test specialist would have Android Monkey (or Super Monkey) testing experience The successful candidate will use commerical and internal test tools to verify the functional correctness and long-run software stability of mobile phones. This involves day-to-day scheduling with team leaders and managing 10-50 concurrent automated test runs. Reporting results and trend information clearly, concisely, and quickly is critical to meeting project objectives. This role requires working closely with software developers to isolate difficult defects and retest corrections. This collaboration will often require adjusting the test tools, creating new test scripts, and altering the test parameters. Finally, this engineer shall recognize inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve work flow (faster, higher quality, higher quantity). *Additional Responsibilities Include*: - Perform initial analysis of problems and report faults using tracking tools such as ClearQuest. - Record test results in Mercury Quality Center. - Interact with other teams to re-create issues *To Qualify For This Role, You Must Have*: - Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience. Verification in a cellular information technology (GSM, CDMA, WCDMA) is highly desired. - Strong communication, coordination, organization, and reporting skills required.
