*Position: Solution Architect*

*Job Description:*
*Position Purpose: *The Solution Architect's role is to analyze proposed
and identified business requirements for new and existing business systems,
design and present efficient technical solutions. This individual will gain
business commitment for all business systems and software plans. The
incumbent will be responsible to evaluate and select technology solutions
required to complete those plans. In addition, the incumbent will apply
proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help
identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the
benefit of IT systems investments. The Solution Architect provides
technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision
making down to the project planning level.
*Major Responsibilities:*
- Require more than 12 years of experience
- Strategy and Planning
- Lead projects from a technical aspect by providing solution analysis,
planning, design and development, of new applications and enhancements to
existing applications.
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define
business requirements and systems goals, and identify and
resolve business
systems issues.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of solution
development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost
effectiveness and systems flexibility.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing
systems.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing
systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these
systems.
- Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to other
Solution Architects and Software Developers within the application
development team. Integration and Deployment
- Assure completeness of deployment plans of new applications and
enhancements to existing applications.
- Conduct research on software products and tools to justify
recommendations and to support purchasing efforts when selected
as part of
proposed technical solutions.
- Where applicable, design, lead, and oversee the implementation of
end-to-end integrated systems.
- Document the Company’s existing business systems architecture and
technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or
alternatives. Solution Management
- Create IT Solution proposals.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed
solutions to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to
provide direction to system programmers.
- Model business and systems processes based on findings through use
case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews
and systems technical performance reviews, for modified and new systems.
Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and
new systems.
- Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for
standardizing systems and software as necessary.
*Competencies (Skills/Qualifications/Experience)*
Formal Education & Certification
- College Diploma or University Degree in the field of computer
science/engineering or information systems.
- Minimum 5 years related work experience.
*Knowledge & Experience:*
- Extensive experience in designing strategic solutions and
architectural models for business systems
- Hands-on experience with functional and non-functional requirements
gathering/analysis
- Comprehension of emerging technologies (e.g. Cloud, Mobile, et
cetera) and there application in the business domain
- Understanding of real-time and complex environment processing
- Strong understanding of information processing principles and
practices.
- Solid grounding in core middleware enterprise solutions.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Unix/Linux based operating systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current systems software, network
protocols, programming languages and standards.
- Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of JEE application servers (WebSphere, Weblogic,
et cetera)
- Solid knowledge/experience in Java, OO design patterns, BPM,
Messaging •Solid knowledge/experience in data warehousing, data
management,
data lakes, and BI tools
- Understanding of common Enterprise Architecture framework
