The notes below are from HR & Manager feedback as to why the last 2 people did not get the job.* *Extras (email from HR): * - *SQL Developer should be solidly mid-level, 4-6 yrs of experience. * - *Candidate should be able to handle mid-level SQL development with a minimum of hand-holding. * - Communication needs to be 9/10 or better, both verbal and written. - *We are looking for SQL DEVELOPERS, not DBA's*. If a person has done some development work while being a DBA they won't be a fit for this role. - *Experience within full SDLC is required.** Our two finalists really fell flat on this facet. Having been involved in only bits and pieces of the development cycle, they would have needed a lot of instruction of where the SQL Developer's role is throughout the SDLC. * - *ER diagramming tools for SQL- Microsoft VISIO and Erwin.** (previous candidates also feel short in this)*** - SQL 2005, SSIS, and SSRS are all extremely important. - A successful candidate will also have some solid understanding of .NET programming and architecture to make their SQL Development more effective. - Again, we need someone who can work in a fast-paced environment. - If a developer wants their work to be viewed and used by 47,000+ people, then this is the place for them!
