Looking forward to hear from you... *Role: Senior Oracle Database Administrator* *Location: San Ramon, CA* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Rate: $/hr on C2C All Incl.* *Visa: Green Card or Citizens* *LOCALS PLEASE!!!* *Position Summary:* This position will provide Oracle administration support working with Solution delivery team, Application Implementation Support team, Platform Support and Enterprise Architecture team. Perform daily database operations and support, provide off-hours maintenance and project support. Collaborate with development teams to tune new and existing SQL, PL/SQL and other database access interfaces. Analyze database performance, system health checks and implement tuning improvements. Contribute to architectural directions and new database features evaluation/implementation. *Position Accountabilities**:* · Analyze database performance, proactively identify performance bottlenecks, and take ownership to resolve them. · Implement, manage, and monitor databases in Dev/Test/Prod and DR environments. · Perform physical implementation of database design from Oracle server installation to database creation. · Install, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot databases and data models that support vendor products, mobile/online banking application and BI applications. · Manage multiple Oracle databases, ensuring that all servers are operational 24x7x365 and all scheduled jobs and backups are consistently completed. · Assume responsibility for backup and recovery, sizing, security, replication, database optimization, schema creation and maintenance, as well as SQL tuning and code optimization. · Perform root cause analysis of complex database problems. · Adhere to policies and procedures pertaining to the database management, security, maintenance and utilization. · Lead small to medium projects including direct interactions with solution delivery and AIS teams. · Assist Enterprise data warehouse team, supporting implemented BI solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues. *Qualifications:* *Required Education or Equivalent Experience:* · Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field. · Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator Certification (12c preferred others acceptable). *Required Experience:* · 6+ years Oracle database administration experience on Unix and Linux platforms (Solaris, OEL), VMware, Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c. · Oracle Grid 12c OEM HA architecture deployment and management. · Fluent in at least one scripting language. · Fluent is SQL/PLSQL. · Operational knowledge of Oracle (11g/12c) Grid, ASM and RAC, Active Data Guard is mandatory. · Substantial operational experience in a 24X7X365 environment. *Field of Experience:* · Solid understanding of Oracle internal architecture, and cost-based optimizer behavior for 10g, 11gR2 and 12c. · Experience in developing and deploying APEX applications. · Database development and administration tools, including Sql Plus, TOAD, and SQL Developer and Ignite. · Database development and administration tools, including Sql Plus, TOAD, and SQL Developer and Ignite. · Experience in the techniques used to build highly available, scalable, economically feasible and high-performing systems. · Solid background in data warehouse principles and design. · Solid knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals. SQL and PL/SQL design and tuning. · Knowledge in database modeling, backup and recovery, performance tuning, replication, encryption, Identity management, NoSQL, Hadoop etc. · Strong technical analysis and decision-making skills. · Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills. · Experience working in the financial service industry, preferred but not required.
