*Position : Sr. Cognos BI Consultant Location : Portland , OR Duration : 6+ Months Interview : Phone/ Skype * *Job Requirement* • Minimum two years paid work experience as an Application Engineer (or equivalent classification) using an Enterprise BI tool (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal Reporting). • Experience with facilitating and documenting system requirements sessions. • Experience with developing Cognos Framework Manager Models. • Experience creating technical documentation of reports and data/report models. • Experience with utilizing star schema data stores as the basis for report development. • Minimum three years working with relational databases. • Three years experience creating reports using Enterprise BI tools preferred. • Three years experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Tools (Report Studio, Query Studio, Metrics Studio, Workspace) • Three years experience with developing Cognos Framework Manager Models • Experience with automated software testing tools including test script development. · Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies): • Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills. • Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures. • Ability to read and explain a data model. • Ability to read, write and maintain SQL Code. • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements. • Experience planning and managing small projects. • Demonstrate Core Competencies as established for your position (Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Leaders, Leading Function) Two years experience with Oracle PL/SQL coding and tuning. · Experience with a data modeling tool such as ERwin or ER Studio. · Experience developing at an academic medical center or healthcare related organization. · Conceptual understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Mart *Education:* · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and eight years work related experience in the information technology field; · OR Associate’s degree in computer science or related field and nine years work related experience in the information technology field; · OR 10 years work related experience in the information technology field.
