*Product Development / Project Manager* *(with Healthcare or Health insurance experience)*
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL and local Chicago area candidates are preferred. Duration: Initially through 12/29/2017 and could be extended to 24 months This position is responsible for functioning as an internal product development consultant and project manager, to lead product development activities; working with Sales and Retention Business Units to develop products that address customer needs and meet company profitability and operational requirements; provide leadership and consulting to internal areas in defining product and scope including benefits, services, pricing targets, platform and vendor relationships; and providing product expertise and advocacy in developing and delivering presentations to internal and external customers. All selected candidates must be able to *attend an in person interview in Chicago* at own expense. No Skype interviews. *Required Skills/Qualifications*: · Bachelor Degree and 4 years’ experience in strategic planning, research, project management, product administration, product operations or relevant health care industry OR 6 years of experience in strategic planning, research, project management, product administration, product operations or relevant health care industry OR a Bachelor's Degree, a Master’s Degree and 3 years of experience. · Ability to interact with staff/management across multiple departments and levels. · Ability to lead and mentor other staff, as appropriate. · General business and financial analysis skills. · Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, marketplace and competition. · Strong analytic and information synthesis skills. · Project management skills, including strong organization, prioritization and problem solving skills; strong oral, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to accept direction and feedback. · Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects concurrently. · Presentation and group facilitation experience. · Initiative and persistence, with ability to meet deadlines. · Ability to work within a team environment. · PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint. · Knowledge of health insurance and familiarity with funding mechanisms is preferred. *Responsibilities:* · Work with division leadership, marketing leadership, department leadership, and team members to develop enterprise product offerings from ideation through development, commercialization, growth and maturity to retirement. · Work with Marketing Communications to ensure accurate reflection of product capabilities. · Support product implementation activities to ensure product intent is delivered. · Identify and comprehend marketplace needs and translate into ideas for new products or improved products. · Based on established product strategy, recommend detailed product modifications or new product designs. · Manage approved "new to client" product development efforts through all phases of the PLM process. · Participate in project development and take responsibility for the creation and maintenance of project management related materials. · Manage multiple priorities across projects and work with staff to complete tasks on time. · Collaborate with market research, competitive analysis and local markets. · Interact one-on-one and in group settings with departmental/inter-departmental team members to identify issues, gather data, brainstorm, prioritize, discuss analytic approach, and share findings. · Communicate with management and key stakeholders to keep them informed of project deliverables, status updates and issue resolution. · Prepare clear and compelling project deliverables that present work approach and results to multiple internal/external audiences, in presentations, reports, dashboards, intranet site content, etc. · Support the development of metrics and financial requirements for EPL reporting and budget needs. · Participate and/or lead in initial project brainstorming / orientation sessions geared toward identifying and framing issues and generate hypotheses around which to organize the work. · Manage projects and stakeholder relationships. · Coordinate research of regulatory requirements and identify operational impacts related to the product development cycle. · Support enterprise-wide activities to ensure corporate sales and retention goals are appropriately supported by product development activities. · Assist Sales in defining product and scope including benefits, services, pricing targets, platform and vendor relationships. · Provide product expertise during the selling cycle. · Act as subject matter expert to internal and external audiences in the area of product development and management. · Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc. · Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. · Maintain complete confidentiality of company business. · Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
