*Position : QA ADVISOR* *Location: South Portland, ME* *Length: 1 YEAR* *Rate: DOE* * * *Demonstrate ability to create a comprehensive Quality Plan for large programs or projects to assist in defining the Strategy around the Quality Approach, best practices and analysis and recommendations if gaps are discovered around Release Management, Quality Control and Testing, Configuration Management and Systems Performance Engineering. QA Advisor must have experience working with project managers in the mitigation of identified risks for the best approach to correct given schedule, resource and budget constraints to deliver the highest level quality product to the customer within know constraints. Must have experience in performing and reporting out on quality inspections (examples: review of the Business Requirements, Technical/System Requirements, Test Planning and Test Evaluation based on established best practice guidelines. The QA Advisor will work directly with the project team leads to assist in monitoring and mentoring in the alignment of established policy and processes defined within WellPoint and best practices. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide education, mentoring and awareness regarding WellPoint Policy and Process and Industry best practices in support of the Quality Life Cycle. Experience in creation of Quality Assurance Scorecard to communicate observations and drive process improvement is desired QA Advisor must possess strong communication skills. Key responsibility of this role is the escalation of quality assurance gaps/risks to QA leadership. This resource as a member of the IT QA Strategy, Planning & Governance team will partner with QA leadership to ensure QA is delivering on its quality mission. The Successful candidate must also: Possess superior analytical and problem solving skills Have a proven track record as a skilled communicator Perform quality inspections and reviews through out the Quality Lifecycle Mentors staff in product quality processes Defines product quality standards in line witch customer, IT, and industry standards Stays abreast of industry direction, changes, and improvements and can relate them to current state Provides consultation to projects and application support groups regarding quality Requirements Requires BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Requires an understanding or organizational impacts and trade-offs of quality processes. 5 years of testing/product quality experience and a quality certification within one year of job placement and prior to moving to the next job level. Basic knowledge of Performance Engineering, Quality Control & Testing, Release Management and Configuration Management Basic knowledge of Rational Tool suite Basic knowledge of Project Management Basic knowledge of Test Data Management Clear understanding of Metrics Trending and/or Statistical Process Control See Standard Job Description in Step 3 - next page.
