*Position : 2 DATA CENTER SPECIALISTS* *Location: Andover, Massachusetts (2 openings)* *Rate: $30/HR* *Length: 7/3/2010* Position Purpose: The *Datacenter Operations Specialist* will be responsible for a wide range of data center tasks supporting the main activities of the data center. This will include technical, administrative, process and other miscellaneous activities. The position will support general data center activities "Required skills/knowledge: Monitor network devices, and servers using supplied software tools and defined processes. Analyze software generated alerts and emails using knowledge of operating system software, network topology and learned experience. Perform first level diagnostics, attempt to fix the failed device using established procedures and escalate issues to second level support if required based on defined customer Service Level Agreements (SLA). Utilize multiple software ticket tracking systems to track problems. (30%). Analyze and report historical trends of IT equipment performance to avoid service interruptions. Produce reports on a regular basis to internal users and clients. Install data center equipment in the data center. This will include servers, switches, routers, and other IT equipment. (20%). Schedule and monitor batch jobs using supplied software products. Interpret client job requirements and develop schedules using job and time dependencies. Analyze job failures, develop scheduling solutions, and ensure the jobs are completed to client specifications. Escalate to technical specialists and follow-up until the problem is resolved. (15) Execute, and distribute client based service report. Review the reports to ensure quality prior to distribution. Monitor the data center facility and environmental equipment to ensure a 7 / 24 availably of the data center.. (15%) Ensure proper labeling and inventory is maintained for equipment. (5 %) Develop, create and publish reports for T-Systems and our customers. Resolves issues as able or escalates to appropriate staff and/or management. Performs and monitors server backups, restores and media rotation. Provides support of the production scheduling environment including starting, stopping and modifying schedules as required. Accurately maintain necessary logs, ticketing tools and documentation. Interact with customers and support staff in a courteous and professional manner.
