Description: 

Responsible for leading project teams from inception to launch, to execute on 
time and within budget through effective management of schedule, resources, 
scope/deliverables, obstacles and risks.

 

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management  20%

·         Proactively manages day-to-day client interaction as the single point 
of contact for client and project communications

·         Works daily with developers, strategists and application architects 
when applicable

·         Sets and manages client expectations

·         Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and 
deepen client trust

Project Management  80%

·         Discovery Phase - Schedule and facilitate discovery meetings with 
clients as part of new project initiation to determine objectives, strategy, 
scope, schedule, estimate, dependencies. 

·         Business Objectives and Metrics - Ensure web deliverables address the 
business objectives; include a call-to-action, and that metrics/tracking 
options are discussed with client. 

·         Resources (dollars)  Identifies budget resources, estimate hours, 
create and gain approvals on SOW and cross-charges

·         Resources (people) - Identifies human resources and assigns 
individual responsibilities for strategist, developer, designer, 
cross-functional team.  Partner with other PMs/strategists when needed in a 
peer to peer relationship

·         Schedule - Creates and executes project schedules and revises as 
appropriate to meet changing requirements

·         Manage Scope - Ensure project stays within scope.  Change in scope 
requires conversation w/client to determine priorities, additional funding, and 
increased time to schedule. 

·         Enforce Standards - Adhere to and enforce standard processes 

·         Communication - Effectively communicates expectations to team members 
and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

·         Operations - Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project by 
scheduling and facilitating weekly status meetings, document meeting notes, 
update SalesForce 

·         Tracking - Tracks project milestones and deliverables. Track project 
using Salesforce: enter new project information, attach schedule/SOW, track all 
hours, maintain all data throughout project duration, finalize data upon 
completion (estimate vs. actual) 

·         Manage Risk - Identify, manage and mitigate project risk. When 
project is at risk, escalate to the appropriate parties with consequences and 
next steps. 

·         Manage Issues - Identify issues and escalate with manager including 
recommended solutions

·         Reviews & QA - Facilitate and participate in reviews and QA to ensure 
high quality deliverables 

·         Process Improvements - Identify areas of inefficiency and propose 
solutions for improvement, participate in development of best practices.

·         Manage Web Requests - Understand the web request process, monitors 
queue daily, communicate with clients within 24 hours of request, QA requests, 
assign resources, follow through until completion and meet SLA of 3-5 business 
days

 

Accountabilities/Expectations & Outputs

·         Budget - Secure project and maintenance budget estimates and funding 
before the beginning of the quarter.  Create and gain approvals on SOW and 
validate actual resource amounts used. 

·         Schedules - Manage the schedule to ensure work is assigned and 
completed on time 

·         Tracking - All projects and maintenance regularly tracked in 
SalesForce, status provided during staff 

·         Facilitate Meetings - Schedule and drive meetings, provides notes in 
a timely manner

·         Manage Standards - Complies with and helps to enforce standard web 
policies, best practices and procedures, while proactively identifying areas 
for improvement.

·         Team Communications  Communicate with developers, strategists, and 
application architects on the team to understand planning considerations, learn 
standards and validate web direction. 

 

Essential Skills

·         Multi-tasking  Ability to competently manage numerous projects, 
clients, and prioritize in a high-pressure environment, while maintaining 
deadlines and executing on deliverables to each clients satisfaction. 

·         10 years of experience as a Project Manager 

·         Passion for the web, solid working knowledge of current Internet 
technologies, including basic HTML and Web 2.0. 

·         Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies. 

·         Competent at working both independently and in a team-oriented, 
collaborative environment 

·         Conflict management - Mitigates conflict and communication problems; 
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

·         Budget Management

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Experience with various project management methodologies and ability 
to tailor approach for success
