Experience with loading massively parallel processing system like Greenplum, Teradata. - Database performance tuning experience. - ETL performance tuning experience. - Very strong UNIX skills and SQL experience. - Extensive source system analysis and data profiling experience. - Strong understanding of Kimball Methodology. - Good SQL writing capabilities with PG SQL. - Experience with load strategy and data validation for large data warehouse. - Profile Data Sources and provide analytics to Business Partners. - Monitor overall projects, including scoping, tracking progress and documentation. - Translates business rules into technical specifications. - Experience with scheduling jobs through AutoSys. - Perform Unit Testing and assist Enterprise Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing teams. - Experience with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases such as Oracle, Neteeza, Greenplum/Postgres, or Teradata. - Demonstrated experience and expertise in the Software Implementation Lifecycle (SILC) including collection of requirements, documentation of specifications, application design, implementation and support. - Demonstrated advanced technical and analytical skills. - Experience reviewing documentation for the user (i.e. installation, use, and customization of products and services) as necessary. - Possesses deep, specialized knowledge of Domain/Area/Team applications and their development throughout all phases of the lifecycle - Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Effective communicator and coordinator across multiple technical disciplines such as database, object-oriented, and Web Front end. - Capable of leading outsourced efforts including offshore resources. - Degree in a technical discipline OR equivalent work history. - Greenplum and DataStage experience. *PreferredSkills*: - Preferred experience with enterprise scheduling tool like Autosys. - Messaging experience would be a plus. *Responsibilities*: - Process Management - Work with Leadership to assess project scope and provides estimates for project timelines and cost feasibility as necessary. - Assists in the development of estimates for projects. - Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. - Assists in the definition of milestones. - Application Design - Designs new systems. - Translates functional requirements into technical requirements and design. - Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for system design. - Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. - Application Development - Leads knowledge capital development. - Strong written and verbal communication skills: including both with technical peers as well as business partners. - Large data warehouse development experience. - Extensive ETL development expertise using star schema design (dims and facts). - Designing innovative system solutions and software development techniques. - Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls and outputs. - Oversees the technical implementation of projects as needed. - Provides production support as necessary. - Technology Architecture - Maintains a detailed knowledge of the business's current technology and infrastructure. - Knowledge and work experience in IBM Datastage development on Greenplum platform. - Knowledge in writing Linux scripts using the bash shell. - Maintains current knowledge of marketplace changes, technology changes, and client businesses. - Determines what tools should be used to address and resolve the business problem at hand through modeling and understanding key business processes, critical paths, and impact of technology on business processes. - Performs evaluative efforts of new and existing technologies to remain knowledgeable about available tools. - Ensures successful technology evaluation and transfer that aligns information technology with the business. -
