Position: Business Project Manager
Location: Montpelier, Vermont
Duration: 6-12 Months

*Job Description:*
Life and Annuity experience and PMP certification is mentioned as a must.

*Key Responsibilities:*
Business project management for projects; identifying and assisting in
management of all tasks that need to be completed to ensure timely and
effective execution of all new product and other projects
Work with team to identify and manage all dependencies between functional
areas involved in the project; manage all aspects of the project to ensure
timely and effective execution
Facilitate the development of business requirements by teams of business
analysts
User testing management for assigned projects, as applicable; development
of consolidated user test plans, executing those test plans and obtaining
appropriate sign off from user managers
Assess and authorize change requests
Establish management team(s) for each project, escalating issues to that
management group, reporting and managing risks and status reporting
Ensure that the business resources are following established processes;
lead and/or participate on the teams to improve processes if necessary
An ability of hands-on delivery, plus partnering project managers
Participate effectively in strengthening the BDO (Business Delivery Office)
tools, artifacts and other governance aspects
Lead and manage project teams effectively.
Understand the business needs of the project and its interaction with other
projects/programs to make decisions that are in the best interest of the
organization

*Job Requirements:*
5+ years financial services desired (preferably life and annuity)
5+ years’ experience managing cross-functional projects in a matrixed
environment desired
Bachelor’s degree
Skilled in multiple project management methodologies (e.g. agile,
waterfall) desired
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
Ability to manage established deadlines; must be a self-starter and be able
to work independently as well as being a team player
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills a
must
Must be action and results oriented, with excellent verbal and written
communication skills
Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex subject matter
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or working towards it.
Position is located in Montpelier, VT
Must be able to pass a background check
