This individual will track all aspects of given project; from the requirements gathering phase to go live; will communicate progress, issues, and status to all relevant parties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following: • Defining and executing the full project portfolio. • Author and manage comprehensive project schedules including key deliverables, milestones, dependencies and resource allocation plans • Managing open issues and working cross-functionally to determine remedies as necessary • Understand dependencies for delivering products and facilitate discussions to assess critical paths. • Establish key milestones and drive progress to accomplish milestones in timely manner. • Utilize knowledge of business requirements and processes to develop appropriate testing procedures to ensure availability of mission critical functions. • Work with technology associates to develop recovery procedures of systems and applications supporting mission critical business functions • Communicate/Present availability and recovery strategies • Coordinate multiple project activities involving product meetings, Disaster Recovery project team meetings, validation sessions, and testing DR Failovers. • Continually review and maintain plans and procedures to ensure that documented information is current and recovery strategies support the corporate strategy • Update/Maintain documentation (DR Project Websites) *Position : Project manager * *Job Location: Sunnyvale CA- Need local* *Job duration: 6+ months* *Here’s the JD:* Apple’s Global Business Intelligence organization is seeking a Tools and Technologies Product Manager with demonstrated product & project management skills to help lead the development of frameworks & tools used by global customers. Global Business Intelligence group focuses on deploying critical business intelligence solutions for all business areas via frameworks and tools built in-house. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, motivated and excel working in a very fast-paced cross-functional environment with strong analytical, product / project management and leadership skills to handle a variety of activities and complexities that entail building highly complex and scalable frameworks and tools. This role requires strategic thinking around team needs and organizational goals and is not a solely tactical role. You will be responsible for successful outcomes and delivery of robust software, and must be able to prioritize and work on multiple highly detailed projects at the same time. · Strong background in Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing · Past development experience with various technologies like Java Script, Java, Teradata, Vertica, Oracle · Good knowledge ETL and Web Services · having worked with BI platform in past. · Passionate about user experience · Strong understanding of Agile practices and service oriented environments · Experience in Product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities · Expertise in QA, prioritizing and tracking defects through their lifecycle · Familiarity and interest in keeping up with open source technology · Ability to bridge the gap between non-technical business users who are the product owners and the technical team · This role includes ownership of multiple strategic and high visibility initiatives aimed at improving Apple’s reporting strategy while addressing our constantly changing business needs.
