*POSITION :ATG Programmer * *Location : Bethpage, Long Island* *Duration : 6 + months* *Hourly rate : between $50 - $60/hr depending on experience* ** *We are also trying to stick with local candidates as the process may just be a F2F. Start date would be within the next few weeks. * ATG Programmer: ATG Programmers are responsible for analyzing business needs, defining system requirements,communicating architectural vision, conceptualizing alternative architectural approaches and leading technical development teams using Agile methods. In addition, they contribute to our technology capability and culture of business value and technical excellence. An ATG Programmer role goes beyond technology, into leadership, team coordination and people management, they serve as role models for our technical staff by mentoring the team as well as inspiring them to become mentors and leaders themselves. *Responsibilities* - Apply knowledge of relevant technologies, analysis tools, operating systems, communication protocols, databases and data modeling to projects - Apply knowledge of programming paradigms / standards and when appropriate develop reusable components that positively impact future projects - Produce comprehensive and accurate documentation including the Technical Architecture Document - Lead the technical architecture team of ATG system - Partner with the Technical Lead to foster the development of high performing technical teams to meet strategic business and technology objectives - Lead technical performance assessments of systems, applications and databases - Ensure development quality, cost and time objectives are met and best practices are followed *Minimum Qualifications* . A minimum of five years experience in Java programming and related technologies . Proven experience building applications using ATG 6.x and higher . At least five years of experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySql, XML and related technologies . Working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript *Preferred Qualifications* . Experience in Agile development practices such as scrums, story point estimation, paired programming and velocity calculation . Experience with content management systems, developing web applications and other business applications preferred especially Alfresco, Vignette and Interwoven .
