*Role: *Database Administrator III (Person with a mix mainframe DB2 DBA
experience and SQL Server DBA experience.  MUST HAVE BOTH!!!  Ideal would
be 50/50%)

*Duration: 6 months +*

*Location: Allentown NJ area.*



Need someone with a combination of DB2 and SQL Server DBA experience

Mainframe DB2.  Must have some experience on 10

SQL server performance tuning, tuning apps, utilites

DB2 Connect

Plan Analyzer

Fileaid for DB2

Must have Z/OS experience.



They want someone with both DB2 and SQL Server DBA



Got a spot we need filled.  We’re looking for a start date as early as
possible to leave adequate time for cross training with the departing
resource.



*Job Summary*

·         Provides database administration (DBA) for mainframe and
client/server applications using mainframe DB2 and MS SQL Server.

·         Supports application developers in logical/physical database
design, performance improvement, problem resolution, and use of DB2 and
third-party DB2 utilities and use of MS SQL Server.  Reviews and approves
application changes.  Implements all database definition changes.

·         Analyzes, identifies, and implements performance and resource
usage improvements for DB2 and SQL Server applications not directly related
to active development projects.

·         Supports production control and computer operations staffs in
meeting production schedule requirements, managing computer resource usage
by DB2 and MS SQL Server applications, and resolving DB2 and MS SQL Server
problems, including after-hours on-call support.

·         Analyzes, identifies, and implements scheduling improvements for
DB2 and MS SQL Server applications.

·         Monitors and tunes DB2 subsystems and MS SQL Server environments
for performance and availability.

·         Administers DB2 and MS SQL Server access and security controls.

·         Coordinates with data center system programmers in planning and
implementing database software upgrades.

·         Provides technical support to LAN group on DB2 Connect issues and
upgrades.

·         Prepares and updates Systems Development Standards and operations
procedures involving DB2 and MS SQL Server environments and applications.

·         Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing.



*Knowledge / Skills / Abilities*

·         Expert knowledge in mainframe DB2 Version 10 or higher
administration, utilities, application systems analysis, and performance
tuning

·         Expert knowledge in MS SQL Server administration, utilities,
application systems analysis, and performance tuning

·         Proficient user of third-party DB2 support utilities: FILEAID
DB2, RC-MIGRATOR, PLAN ANALYZER, OMEGAMON/DB2, and DB2 CONNECT

·         Proficient user of IBM zlOS operating system environment:
TSO/ISPF; MVS JCL; sequential file, PDS, VSAM, and lAM data set structures;
SDSF; batch utilities; CICS; and COBOL

·         Exposure to and understanding of the following program products:
TLMS, SAR (CA VIEW), CONNECT:DIRECT (NDM), OUTBOUND, FTP, FDR/ABR,
mainframe security (ACF2), job scheduling (CA-JOBTRAC), source code change
management (CA-ENDEVOR), and EXTRA Extreme

·         Working knowledge of desktop PC applications (including MS
OUTLOOK, WORD, and EXCEL)

·         Exposure to WINDOWS / UNIX based server applications

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Excellent analytical and technical skills in information
technology

·         Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and organize
activities to meet deadlines in a fast-pace environment

·         Ability to plan and monitor computing environment improvement
projects involving other staff

·         Ability to influence others

·         Ability to provide on the job training to co-workers

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to abide by Molina's policies

·         Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
