*Title:- Sql DBA* *Location: San Antonio, TX * *Position: IT – Database Consultant * *Contract: 6 mo with extension * *Description: need gc and citizen * · *Senior DBA * * What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment? DataRap, OptumCloud initiative * · *Primary Responsibilities: * * Provide administrative support to the SQL Test/Development and production environments. Tasks include: o Create new Test/Development databases, overwrite Test DBs with copies of Production DBs o Recover/rollback Test & Development DBs o Install SQL Server – Test & Development instances o DB migration (i.e., to new servers), DB user administration o Support client application installations o Troubleshoot – application connectivity, and other Test & Development issues • Monitor & manage data storage, processor capacity of production and test/development SQL Servers to support DB growth; coordinate drive expansions with Operations & Change Management Team. • Engage with application teams in performance and tuning exercises and troubleshoot Database, Application and Server related issues in a timely manner. • Responsible for code migration and Database deployments on a regular basis. • Assist with Production SQL environment tasks such as DB user administration, DB migration, and supporting client application installations. • Writes advanced T-SQL code and stored procedures to support DBA tasks. • Continue to learn new technical skills, to allow for expansion and progression of duties. • Nights, weekends, and non-regular hours may be required. • Accountability – takes ownership of responsibilities & tasks • Ability to follow established workflow/implementation processes, and apply creative solutions where needed • Proven track record of successfully troubleshooting problems • Good verbal & written communication with documentation skills • Ability to multi-task and provide attention to detail • Ability to work independently, and be a team player • Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision and under potentially stressful situations * Qualifications: *• At least Five years of experience in SQL Database Administration or Windows Administration with SQL experience * * • Desired skills: SQL/T-SQL, Power Shell or other programming languages • Skills that would be considered as an added advantage include o Experience administering Active Directory o Experience in writing power shell scripts • Experience with Control M or other job scheduling tools • Monitoring systems and database devices using any of the tools such as foglight, IDERA, whatsup gold etc. • Thorough knowledge is required of Operating Systems and Database Consistency procedures • Exposure to Control-M, VMware, Foglight or similar technology.* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
