*JOB SUMMARY*

The Storage and Systems Engineer will be responsible for the day to day
operation and maintenance of our customer storage arrays and open systems.
The position will report into the Manager of Network Services.  The goal of
the position is to maintain a high level of availability and end-user
satisfaction that meets or exceeds the performance requirements.  This
position will complete all tasks necessary to function as the storage
engineer, perform server administration and management, and server as tier
two escalation point for desktop support.  This position will also function
as an escalation point for Tier one network operations issues.



*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

·         Maintain, administer and serve as First Tier support for all
Customer storage systems including Fiber Channel switching.

·         Monitor current storage usage, performance, and availability and
maintain reporting as requested

·         Install, configure, test, and implement software and components
as necessary.

·         Apply applicable patch releases and maintenance as a part of the
day to day responsibilities

·         Function as a Second Tier advisory role to desktop support and
help desk

·         Resolve any hardware related issues in the data center

·         Respond to alerts and resolve any performance issues and notify
end-users

·         Function as an escalation point both internally and working with
vendors or manufacturers

·         Work with the IT staff to respond to and resolve alerts related
to systems and/or integration

·         Responsible for planning and coordination of any new systems
installation as it relates to the overall offering

·         Monitor and respond to issues after hours in support of the on
all process and as an escalation tier as needed

·         Complete any physical tasks required in support of the Customer
environment including but not limited to: cable management, system rack and
stack, and hardware replacement or repair.

·         Ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external
customers and communicate effectively.

·         Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with
clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required.

·         Ability to successfully perform position requirements with
excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
required.

·         Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to
safeguard systems from physical damage and viruses, unauthorized users, and
damage to data

·         Willingly work required overtime to meet established production
goals

·         Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations

Comply with policies and directives outlined in the company handbook

Other duties as assigned



*Application support*

Work with application developers to assist in troubleshooting
infrastructure related issues

Participate and provide feedback to the application teams where network and
systems related expertise is required



*Storage Backup and Disaster Recovery*

Primary responsibility in the creation and maintenance of all storage LUNS
or pools for production, test and development and disaster recovery

Monitor storage replication and maintain established recovery levels.

When necessary, restore and recover data as requested from either the
backup system or from any integrated technology that performs integrated
snapshots or replication

Work with application teams to ensure that all production data and systems
are replicated for disaster recovery targets.





*Strategic Planning*

   - Work with the team to perform capacity planning and forecast growth in
   the environment
   - Identify processes and policies that will improve the overall
   performance of the environment and work with management to implement these
   initiatives
   - Work with the IT staff to identify upcoming needs and report back to
   management
   - Review tools regularly to identify abnormal growth or other trends
   that require further analysis and bring those to the attention of the team
   and management
   - Provide input on vendor proposals where necessary
   - Lead and/or participate in the creation and maintenance of system
   related policies

*EXPERIENCE*

·         7-10 years of experience managing storage arrays (EMC a plus)

·         Storage Based Snapshots

·         Storage Based Replication

·         7-10 years of windows server administration

·         5 years hands on experience with Back-up maintenance and Disaster
Recovery Procedures.

·         7-10 years of experience with VMWare Virtualization

·         At least 3 years of experience with CITRIX, VDI or other desktop
virtualization solution

·         At least 5 years of experience in Windows desktop support and
customer service



*EDUCATION*

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work
experience

·         Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification

·         Storage Certifications
