Primary Assignment: Enterprise Monitoring Team a.. Respond to environment problems and implement resolution efforts across technology areas. b.. Provides Unparalleled Customer Service in the following area: System Engineer, Enterprise Monitoring c.. Evaluate, develop, customize, install, implement and maintain monitoring solutions and systems, according to Customer/system requirements. Job Functions: Customer/Business Orientation a.. Focus on internal and external Customer monitoring requirements. b.. Develop understanding of business process being supported by assigned system(s). Project Management: a.. Participate in developing time estimates for project schedules. b.. Support the organization's project management policy, practice and methodology. c.. Provide timely and accurate progress information to project status reports d.. Must have familiarity with the basic PC software utilized to perform their daily duties, i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, etc. e.. Must have basic experience in project management and vendor relations f.. Must have good written and verbal skills. Problem Solving: a.. Analyze and resolve problems of medium to difficult complexity. b.. Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution. Platform Engineering: a.. Assist in installation, customization, development, implementation and maintenance of monitoring systems developed internally and/or in conjunction with an outside vendor. b.. Assist in evaluating and recommending emerging monitoring technologies. c.. Advanced skills in HP Openview Operations for UNIX, HP Openview NNM, and HP Openview BAC Server. d.. Experience with Microsoft's Systems Center Operations Manager is a plus. Testing/Deliverable Quality: a.. Participate in component and system testing as it relates to monitoring technologies. Production Support: a.. Will be required to carry / respond promptly to an on-call pager on a rotating basis with other Monitoring Engineers. b.. Responsible for immediate response to monitoring problems. c.. Needs an advanced understanding of root cause analysis procedures. d.. Provide technical problem resolution for complex monitoring problems without assistance. Education: AAS, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, and / or equivalent formal training or work experience. Experience: Generally has 3-5 years (or equivalent knowledge base) work experience in monitoring in a large corporate environment. Maturity: a.. Advanced knowledge of HP Openview Monitoring tools. b.. Advanced knowledge of technical / business environment Critical Skills: a.. Demonstrated aptitude and ability for logical and abstract thinking. b.. Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, solution development, and implementation. c.. Ability to analyze and resolve problems of medium to large sized complexity. d.. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, Customer service oriented environment. e..
