JD for the Network Consultant
Resources Should:
a. Be fluent in English – Oral and Written for all team members
b. Be Cisco CCNA certified.
c. Be fluent with Cisco Prime technology used to import network
configurations
d. Be experienced upgrading switches, wireless controllers,
wireless access points
e. Be experienced in creating and configuring
VLANs
f. Be experienced in SNMP Configurations
g. Be experienced with ACL Configurations
h. Be experienced designing circuit upgrades
i. Be experienced creating SSIDs
j. Be experienced with change of authorization (CoA)
k. Be experienced with URL redirection
l. Be experienced with OSPF
m. Be experienced working with Cisco
n. Be experienced with advanced RADIUS configuration
o. Be experienced working with H3C
p. Be experienced working with Bluecoat/ECDN Sizing and
Configuration
q. Be experienced working with IPAM Solutions Example: BlueCat
r. Be experienced in creating appropriately sized Netblocks
s. Be experienced coordinating site outages with local IT or local
management
t. Be experienced executing and documenting test scripts for
implementation
u. Be experienced working with 802.1X NAC
v. Be experienced with port security
w. Be experienced with MAC sticky
x. Preferred: experience working with Alcatel
y. Coordinate changes for devices that need 802.1X configuration
(Example: VoIP Phones)
z. Utilize organizational and documentation Skills for device
inventory
aa. Have strong network and Datacom background
bb. Identify network equipment that needs upgrading to Customer NAC
standards based on Customer NAC approved equipment list
cc. Create estimates and Bills of Material (BoM) for Customer for
new equipment
i. Customer Telecom will validate the BoM before anything is
ordered
dd. Ensure confidentiality of passwords on any equipment or systems
accessed.
ee. Upgrade/configure switches to NAC standards
