Reply back with expected hourly rate Interview Mode-Phone/Skype Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 9+ months Rate: Open Job Description The CLIENT Information Security Office (ISO) requires a 12 month network systems (LAN & WAN) specialist resource to provide data network design, implementation, support and site assessment for the CLIENT IT Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Support Team. This staff will require advanced LAN & WAN experience, across multiple network vendors and technologies, but specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. This position will be a dedicated network systems (LAN & WAN) specialist for CLIENT IT focused on network design, implementation and site assessment, contributing to information security consulting to improve security and supportability around ITS systems. ITS systems include, but are not limited to, highway message boards, traffic counters, reversible lane systems, remote weather information systems, traffic cameras and highway lighting. These systems are also supported by Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix systems, as well as various networking technologies and systems. This position is a critical component of successful information security and systems support at CLIENT for IT services delivered to the CLIENT Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Statewide Traffic Operations Center (STOC) and Traffic Systems Operations Unit (TSOU) business customers. This position will be part of a team of data network, information security and systems specialists responsible for security assessment & remediation, standardization of network architecture, implementing change & configuration management, vendor management and compliance focused on these business functions and their related IT services and technologies. This role requires an experienced IT professional with an exceptional technical background as an network systems (LAN & WAN) and implementation specialist, project management skills, and a proven track record of managing & developing services for an enterprise class IT organization, specifically ITS technologies. Also critical are outstanding organizational skills, excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize assignments and work independently. This position must be able to collaborate effectively with all IT and business teams and staff at all levels, with specific experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, and communicating and marketing those solutions clearly to the business. Skills Needed Progressive experience in computing and network systems administration & design, specifically including experience supporting a large IT enterprise Required 10 Years Strong background with LAN & WAN network equipment, cabling and technologies Required 10 Years Experience performing risk analysis, documenting results and guiding best practice implementations for network systems Required Experience performing business continuity planning and disaster recovery analysis, planning, testing and implementation Desired Experience with information security tools such as IDS/ISP, firewall, AV, packet capture & analysis, malware analysis, SIEM Required Specific SIEM experience with IBM Qradar Highly desired Specific scan tool experience with Nessus Security Center Highly desired Evaluating and developing security hardening for Intelligent Transportation Systems such as highway message boards, video systems and reversible lanes Highly desired Experience developing and publishing information security policy, standards and procedures in cooperation with business customers Highly desired Knowledge of the TCP and IP protocol suite, related security architectures, and remote access security techniques and products Required 10 Years Knowledge of security frameworks including, but not limited to: OWASP, ISO, and NIST Required Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and have the ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of staff and management Required Evaluating and producing security hardening for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) such as used in industrial, utilities and SCADA systems Highly desired CISSP, GSEC, GIAC, CEH, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or related information security or network administration certifications Required Understanding of fundamental network services such as DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS Required Process experience including change management, systems inventory, incident management, project management and service delivery Required Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing priority environment, and ability to problem solve using analytical skill sets.
