*CLIENT: WELLPOINT* *Location: Indianapolis, IN* *Length: 6 MONTHS* *Rate: $55/HR* *SIX OPENINGS************* *Description* Assists in maintenance of vendor performance per contract and corporate commitments. Ensures vendor conformity to Wellpoint enterprise technology standards, operational processes, and management guidelines. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Coordinates and assists in defining metrics with technology users and those responsible for governance within the technology space in which the Analyst operated. Develops information regarding vendor performance and financial cost & pricing trends analysis. Monitors vendor performance to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and other vendor contractual commitments. Requires BS/BA in related field; minimum of 3 years experience in a support & operations or design & engineering role in any of the following areas: servers, networks, telecommunications, operating systems, middleware, disaster recovery, collaboration technologies, hardware/software support, applications, or computing platforms or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Multiple trade certifications and/or continuing education preferred. *SDLC Process and Tooling Architect Background/Context*: WLP is currently in the process of rolling out an enhanced software development lifecycle methodology based on the Rational Unified Process. The SDLC incorporates Lean Six Sigma concepts and encompasses the end-end capability delivery lifecycle. WLP’s SDLC is supported by a comprehensive suite of tools, primary the IBM-Rational suite, but encompassing other tools that automate various activities in the SDLC. The tools support all WLP platforms including, mainframe, J2EE, .Net, and Packaged-based software ranging from Siebel CRM to Facets. The rollout of the enhanced SDLC is a key strategic initiative at WLP, and we are looking for candidates that can work with top-notch talent to enable WLP’s transformation to a world-class software delivery organization. We are looking to add candidates to our team who are passionate about IT delivery transformation. The successful candidates for this position will also be responsible for: • Creating an overall vision for integrating SDLC processes and tools • Integrating current tools or rolling out new tools to enable efficient project delivery • Coaching and training project teams on process/tooling architecture, integration, and configuration • Creating a baseline configuration / design for the tools supporting the SDLC • Communicating the process/tooling vision/architecture to senior executive and hands-on delivery teams • Serving as the primary point of contact for all SLDC tooling related communication Qualified candidates for this position also have the following skills and requirements: • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Executive presence and high energy level • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to make an impression on project teams • Exposure to CMM, CMMI, as well as to other process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean • Experience in delivering IT projects using the RUP methodology • Exposure to Agile/Iterative development methodologies • Exposure to mainframe development methodologies and development in a batch-oriented paradigm • Experience in working with software delivery centers along with understanding of dynamics and logistics of remote software development • Experience with core IBM Rational Suite (RequisitePro, Software Architect, Software Modeler, ClearQuest, Clearcase, and Quality Manager) • Exposure to integrating proprietary as well as open-sourced software including CAST, Asset Analyzer, Hibernate, JBOSS, BladeLogic, Build Forge, Optim, Rational Functional Tester, JProbe, and Rational Functional Tester • Exposure to formal enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) • Hands-on coding/development experience in a mainframe (COBOL/JCL) and J2EE or .Net environment • Experience with end-end lifecycle from ideation to implementation • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of related industry or consulting experience Assists in maintenance of vendor performance per contract and corporate commitments.
