** *Role: Data Analyst* Location*: *Des Moines, IA Duration: 6+ Months *Skills:* · 5-7 years of experience with *Life Insurance systems required*. · The person that holds this position must be both customer and results oriented. · Experience implementing and/or working with Meta Data a plus. · Two + years of experience with *SQL Server 7.0 or higher*. · Candidates must have experience delivering at the Senior level with senior experience working as a single contributor · Experience working in the Life Insurance and Annuity Business is critical · We don’t have a lot of time to spend teaching our business to the candidate · They must have strong working knowledge of these subject areas in addition to the technical skills required * Data Analysis –* · Responsible for direct interaction with the Business Consultants, DBA team and End User to gain a thorough understanding of the data being requested. · Responsible for mapping requested data fields from Third Party Systems to FGL data structures. · Responsible for the creation of data field conversions from Third Party Systems to FGL definitions. · Responsible for working directly with the third party data staff to develop the requested data interfaces. · Responsible for testing the data received from the Third Party Systems for accuracy of format and conversion definitions. · Responsible for providing production support for data when issues arise. · Experience in tools like Erwin and Visio. · Experience in Data Modeling *Report Design* · Responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and summarization of data in the generation of reports for end-users. · Designs and or develops database objects (databases, tables, stored procedures, DTS Packages) to support the collection, tracking and reporting of business data. · Designs, develops and supports reporting tools that utilize advanced features in MS Excel and MS Access, i.e. VBA, macros.
