Provide on site support as MSC Engineers for Omaha, Nebraska for a UMTS-3G MSC Network which consist of LCP, UMGW & PMGW, RNCs, Node Bs and other transport elements such as AT&T & Tellabs ATMs. b.. The MSC Engineer job involves, T1 testing and turn up and DACs provisioning. c.. MSC duties will include daily Operations and Maintenance (OA&M) activities for either one of the MSCs located For Omaha, NE The on-site engineer will also work with the AT&T NOC and ALU RTS to help diagnose and troubleshoot HW and SW problems which also will include SW upgrades and maintenance. d.. The MSC Engineer will also support AT&T in updating all pertinent network translations, system parameters changes as required for fixing data/voice call processing problems besides being responsible for resolving all MSC network related issues and outages and provide Root Cause Analysis to all network users (AT&T-ALU). e.. The MSC Engineer will also support 3rd party vendor's equipment in the MSC complex environment. Needed skills include:- a.. Require someone on-site that can work with turning up the TG/T1s and also serve as training to the local AT&T Switch Tech. b.. They will need to be familiar with the LCP Blades and, FS-GUI and Views associated with TG/T1 Turn-up, including awareness of where to check in the FS-GUI. c.. They will need to be familiar with the pMGW card/port layout, TL1 Commands associated with TG/T1 Turn-up. d.. They will need to be familiar with the MIGUI to view the various alarms and correlate them with AT&T's Netcool System. e.. The Engineer should be able to check IuCS Link States (eg In Service, or OOS), and be able to restore. f.. Provide recommendations to optimize the network operations and performance. . Work with internal technical teams for product placement and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability. . Work closely with customers to conduct network readiness and customer readiness tests. . Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's technical and management teams. Qualifications EDUCATION: - Four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. SRA desirable or Cisco Certification (CCIE) and/or Juniper Certification (JNCIP/JNCIE), or equivalent experience preferred. EXPERIENCE:- . 10 - 15 years relevant work experience with a telecommunications equipment vendor or service provider. . Expert Level Knowledge in IP routing protocols such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP and RIP and of signaling protocols such as MPLS/RSVP-TE, and LDP. . Extensive knowledge of VLL, VPLS and VPRN services. . Experience in Network Management (SAM 5620), Operation Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) is a plus. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
