*Job Description *

·         *Main Skills Needed/Notes: *

·         *-Will be automating the solution in a large environment*

·         *-Someone who has worked in a large environment*

·         *-Someone who has worked on a variety of projects that has a
background of applications with technical partnerships such as HP, Dell,
IBM.*

·         *-Need someone who can embed a solution to a product*

·         *-Automation scripting using powershell in a VMware/Hypervisor
Environment*

·         *-They need to make test more Robust*

·         *-Library of different scripts*

·         *looking for a power-shell scripting guru to help the
Professional Services team for approximately 3 months. *

·         *The Solution Architect is responsible for engaging in a wide
variety of projects for customers and partners and for leveraging technical
knowledge from across the community. *

·         *They demonstrate strong technical mastery of architecture,
design and communications, as well as deployment and automation through
scripting.  *

·         *As a member of Professional Services team, you will participate
in the design and operational execution of customer’s disaster recovery
process as well as on custom engagements and automation activities.*

There are 3 focus areas for the Solution Architect role:

·         *Work independently or as part of a team on Professional Services
engagements, often in a technical leadership role to design, develop,
implement and document innovative solutions based on hands-on knowledge of
solutions:*

·         *Maintain deep technical knowledge of solutions and developing
new technology integrations and solution capabilities*

·         *Deliver customer engagements focused on automation such as
scripted deployments, self-service portals, API integration, and design to
ensure customer and partner value realization*

·         *Participate in pre-sales/business development activities for
Professional Services*

·         *Work with PS Manager to scope and craft Statements of Work*

·         *Track actual time against scoped requirements, as appropriate*

·         *Manage customer expectations; drive customer satisfaction*

·         *Identify change order requirements; track out of scope requests*

   - *Document deliverables for use by customer and internal teams (e.g.,
   Support, Product, Engineering) Train partner service delivery teams*
   - *Develop and release technical and service delivery collateral
   including deployment guides, best practices, sizing whitepapers and
   solution reference architectures*
   - *Participate in the creation of best practices-based delivery kits for
   internal and partner audiences*

·         *Create and manage Scripting/API Knowledge Center:*

   - *Be the go to person for questions and best practices*
   - *Manage a central corporate repository of scripting content*
   - *Monitor and respond to scripting-related Forum posts*
   - *Participate in the creation of a point of view on scripting and API
   strategy*
   - *Participate in scoping of paid scripting/API engagements and SOW
   creation*

·         *Be the Lead Consultant on non-billable Business Development and
Alliances development efforts:*

   - *Participate and partner with the alliances and/or product development
   teams to help define and contribute in the creation of progressive
   integration solutions and tooling based on partner requirements and
   contribute directly to the delivery of these solutions through scripting,
   testing, documenting, demonstrating and/or showcasing as part of a team*
   - *Provide architectural guidance for the integration of products with
   third-party products including automation platforms, load balancers,
   systems management and monitoring, security platforms, etc.*
   - *Work with PS Manager to scope and bound project work; understand
   business case; prioritize efforts*
   - *Track actual time against scoped requirements*
   - *Manage partner expectations*
   - *Identify change order requirements; track out of scope requests*
   - *Document deliverables for use by partners and internal teams (e.g.,
   Support, Product, Engineering)*



* Basic Qualifications*

   - *5-10 years of experience as a technical specialist in a
   customer-facing role*
   - *Solid Linux and Windows-based system administration activities in
   a cloud and virtualized environment*
   - *Experience building automated infrastructure and in automating
   production environments*
   - *Experience with automated build scripts used for release management
   across all environments*
   - *Excellent scripting skills in PowerShell*
   - *Experience delivering VMware Professional Services*
   - *Proven experience with JSON and REST APIs*
   - *Experience installing and configuring VMware vSphere Suite*
   - *Mastery of VMWare PowerCLI and vSphere automation*
   - *Ability to serve as a technical evangelist and member of a center of
   excellence for scripting and APIintegration*
   - *Ability to travel to customer locations when appropriate*
   - *Experience deploying Cloud architectures*



* Preferred Qualifications*

   - *Strong verbal, written and team-oriented communications skills*
   - *Familiarity with Professional Services concepts:  scoping, SOW
   creation, deliverables definition*
   - *Experience with Chef, Puppet or Ansibledesirable*
   - *Experience with Virtualization technologies e.g., VMware vSphere,
   VCloud Director and Hyper-V/VMM*
   - *Experience installing and configuring vCenter, SCVMM*
   - *Previous Disaster Recovery experience or knowledge of key concepts
   related to replication and recovery orchestration*
