*Responsibilities:*

*Triage, troubleshoot and respond to incidents and outages impacting
services supported by the SOC.  Primarily accountable for being hands on the
keyboard to restore the service as quickly as possible within the SLAs
outlined.*

*Maintain and improve on a “First Touch Resolution” goal of 95%*

*Manage incidents and outages in accordance with the incident and crisis
management processes. Follow appropriate escalation paths for incidents that
are not manageable by the team.*

*·         **Track and manage changes that are requested and in-progress
that are related to services supported by SOC.  Ensure all changes are
tracked, have been approved and are visible to the Ops Center.*

*·         **Provide feedback on tooling opportunities to improve the
operational efficiency.*

*·         Document troubleshooting guides and recovery procedures for
service impacting that can be used by the Ops Center resources.** *

*Skill Sets Required:***

*·         Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral
English ***

*·         Ability to follow strict Standard Operating Procedures without
failure*

*·         Ability to perform work under continuous deadline pressure*

*·         Ability to navigate Windows/Unix systems quickly through use of
both mouse and keyboard*

*·         Ability to multitask*

*Properties using core non-Microsoft Technologies (Unix, Apache) require the
following core skills:*

*·         **Unix/Linux Administration** (OS architecture, administrative
fundamentals, and instrumentation)*

*·         **Strong conceptual architectural knowledge of the following
technologies:*

*o   **Content Delivery Networks*

*o   **Network architecture and communications (e.g. OSI):*

*§  **Foundry and Cisco specific technologies.*

*o   **Unix Daemons and Windows Services:*

*§  **Squid*

*§  **Bind DNS*

*§  **SNMP*

*§  **MySQL*

*§  **Rsync*

*§  **IIS*

*§  **Flash Server*

*Properties using core Microsoft Technologies (Windows Server, SQL, IIS)
require the following core skills:***

*·         Understanding of fault tolerant Web Services, Active Directory,
IIS, SQL Server, Clustering, and SANs.*

*·         Ability to successfully troubleshoot systems in a Windows
environment using common instrumentation, specifically but not limited to:*

*o   Performance Counters (PerfMon)*

*o   Event Logs*

*o   WMI*

*o   HTTP Debugging (Fiddler, or comparable tool)*

*o   Network Monitoring and Analysis (NetMon or Ethereal)*

*o   SQL Profiler*

Skills that are a plus, but not required:*

*o   Experience debugging ASP.NET <http://asp.net/> and ISAPI application*

*o   Understanding of object-oriented development languages (C#, Java)*

*o   Demonstrated ability to use WinDBG to debug compiled application code*

*o   Demonstrated ability to perform memory-leak investigations using memory
leak detection tools*

*·         2 years of experience managing and troubleshooting IIS and/or SQL
servers in a medium-to-large production environment.*

*·         2 years of experience managing Windows 2000/2003 in a
medium-to-large scale production environment*

*·         2 years of working knowledge and experience troubleshooting
application and platform faults in medium-to-large scale Windows
environments*

*·         2 years of successful documentation, presentation and
communicating effectively to clients and users.*

*·         1 year of operational support delivering resolutions to a ticket
or issue system*
