Work Location: MD - Timonium Job Title: Technical Specialist Start Date: ASAP Explanation for Position The candidate will implement new functionality and or update legacy code for the ODS Enhancement Project which includes extensible and scalable frameworks on the Business Layer (Application Farm Servers) and Data Layer (SQL Server) platforms using *C# in Windows Services and SOA WCF Services interfacing with T-SQL Stored Procedures. * The candidate will implement the new functionality to satisfy Design Documents and Functional Requirements for the project – with expected deliverables to include: New (or updated) documentation, extensions to existing frameworks, new (or updated) stored procedures and automated unit test cases. The candidate will work under the supervision of a Technical lead and participate in unit testing, conduct code reviews and assist the System test team in defining test scripts and problem resolution in the QA environment. Details of Position: Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: • 5+ years experience using the following technologies, SDLC/OOA/OOD, C#, T-SQL. • Experience with lower level languages like C and C++ is a plus. C# programming in Visual Studio 2008, with a concentration on DB programming in T-SQL Stored Procedures. • Also XML/XSD, TCP/IP Sockets, SQL OOP and SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture), Windows Application, Windows Services, Web Services, WCF with .NET 3.0 IIS Component-based, multithreaded server side programming. • Experience creating scalable server based middleware infrastructure services on a collection of Application Farm Servers using multithreaded connections to SQL Server and complex T-SQL stored procedures, user defined functions and triggers. • Candidate should be very familiar with C# multithreaded programming techniques, including experience with thread pools, semaphores, critical sections, and how to terminate a thread. • Experience creating and using Plug-In Frameworks based on Interfaces and Late Binding with Reflection and Custom Attributes. • Experience with Performance Monitoring of C# Applications using Visual Studio Performance Monitor or Compuware’s DevStudio product. • Experience with Performance Tuning SQL Server’s Stored Procedures using Microsoft Management Studio’s Query Analyzer and Performance Monitor tools. • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Developer Team Edition’s Unit Test capabilities or NUnit for automated testing. • Experience with Agile and Continuous Integration development processes with Configuration Management (Serena Tracker) and Version Control systems (Serena Version Manager/PVCS).
