Hi Partner, Please send resumes to an...@nihaki.com
*This is located in Philly. *Assignment is potentially 9 months in length but seeking through 12/31/10 for now. Generally 40 hours but looking for candidate to be flexible if need be. Hours are 8/9am to 5/6pm*. Looking to bring contractor onboard ASAP*. * * *JOB DESCRIPTION: * *Background/Culture of group:* We are a small, agile team of “user interface integrators,” building lightweight desktop applications in a collaborative and cooperative environment with a variety of software tools, focusing on best practices and adherence to industry standards. We work closely with the interaction design team to implement their vision of the user interface in our desktop financial applications, and we engage in prototyping exercises to test the workflow and user experience and make adjustments to the UI accordingly. We work with the visual design team to insure that the look and feel is consistent with our brand, and work closely with the development team to apply the styles to production-level code. *Scope of position:* Designs and develops business applications using a number of visual components. This is primarily a front-end development position, but it is not a development position in the true sense of the word. We are not developing pages/views and hooking them up to live data, but we work closely with developers that do. There is some design experience required as it relates to layout and interaction design – the candidate will need to work with product people to develop layouts and adhere to branding guidelines when building the UI. Some support will be provided on the design side, though not as much as on the development side. Qualified candidate should have some significant experience with interaction design and should be comfortable creating new pages/views that conform to existing brand/visual guidelines. The qualified candidate will be able to take a visual design/brand and apply it to an existing XAML layout or create a XAML page layout by hand. This candidate will be working with a Product Manager in the Investment Management business to create a new version of an existing product to fit into a WPF desktop application. This is a client-facing product, but not a client-facing role. A portfolio is preferred but not necessarily required. We would like to see demonstrable skills in WPF/XAML and a portfolio of the candidate’s work is probably the easiest way to do this. I’m open to other methodologies that a candidate may have for demonstrating their skills. *Main Responsibilities:* - Creation of XAML client-side code to build user interface components for our WPF-based desktop application(s). *Required Skills:* - Qualified applicants will have competence in hand-coding XAML for UI layouts; Style/Data composition with Control Templates and Data Templates; simple vector graphics. - They will have comfort working with Subversion and Visual Studio 2008, and have demonstrable experience working on medium-to-large Solutions. - Good written and spoken communication skills are important. - Very close attention to detail, pride in your work, and enthusiasm about XAML/WPF are highly valued. - Basic web dev skills are required as there is some integration of html assets into the WPF desktop. Solid html/css/javascript in a .NET environment is fairly essential. *Desired Skill Set:* - Experience with: custom Window chrome, Bindings, Animation, and C# are great to have, but not essential. - Professional experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript – also a big plus. - Financial industry experience is a plus and would give an edge to otherwise identical candidates, but I wouldn’t say it is a must-have. Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information. Please make sure the Consultant's skills match the requirement. After reviewing the resume I will contact you if I need more information. Thanks, Anand Bandarupally Nihaki Systems Inc 346 Georges Road, Suite # 1, Dayton, NJ 08810.
