I have a new requirement for one of our client's in Milwaukee, WI - they have openings for *6 Sr. Oracle DBA's! *Experience with RAC and Data Guard is required and excellent communication skills are also a MUST! Rate: $DOE/hr Duration: 8 Month Contract Start Date: 5/17/10 Submittal Deadline: ASAP Assignments for the Database Administrator will normally consist of designing, implementing, and maintaining relational database structures to support efficient access and maintenance of the data, monitoring performance and tuning of the database environments. There WILL be on-call responsibilities for resolution of problems during off hours and weekends with this position. The individuals are expected to work on multiple tasks concurrently and are expected to accept responsibility for high quality and timely completion of all assigned tasks. Project work is primarily in support of the Merchandising and E-Commerce application area. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills as they will be interfacing with key application teams on a regular basis. Up to 6 positions will be available. Will accept Intermediate and Senior level candidates, but all MUST be willing to accept off-hours and weekend support. • *Minimum five years* of Oracle data base management experience (version 10 and 11) including experience with OEM, RAC and Data Guard. AIX knowledge a plus. • Demonstrated competence, experience, knowledge, and understanding of database management; including: • Application support and SQL tuning • Database/environment monitoring and tuning • Database backups and recoveries • Oracle software and patch installation • Display initiative, self-motivation, good judgment, common sense, a positive and cooperative attitude, and the ability to act decisively and promptly • We also need 1 (one) DBA that has logical DataGuard skills.
