If you were able you could face to face with the client tomorrow-in Princeton NJ 6 month plus contract Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Data Technology, the Data Software Developer will work as part of the clients data applications team in specifying, designing, coding, and testing tools for content validation and conversion that are consistent with clients archival policies using XML technologies (XSLT, etc.) and Java. This position will report to the Director of Data Technology. Primary Responsibilities Perform detailed analysis of the structure, organization, and comprehensiveness of sample content data supplied to client for preservation Analyze documents and DTDs and develop conversion specifications including element analysis and transformation mapping Identify data errors or areas of difficulties and recommend resolution strategies Develop, implement, test, and maintain software necessary to transform data to archival formats following established guidelines and policies using XML technologies (XSLT, Schematron, DOM, etc.) Develop, implement, test, and maintain software for format validation and quality assurance Document all procedures, developed tools, and received data formats Exercise good judgment in the interpretation and application of archival policies as implemented during software development Support operating staff in the use of transformation tools through training and problem resolution activities Qualifications Five years experience in software development including Java and XSLT Two years experience in development on Unix (Solaris) platforms Significant experience with structured documents and related technologies (XML, SGML, XSLT, HTML, DTD, and XML Schema), automated data conversion, and electronic publishing file formats Experience with other file formats for text and graphics used in online publications Knowledge of a wide variety of tools, programming languages, development environments, and operating systems Familiarity with all phases of the software/product development life-cycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance Strong problem solving skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work well in a small team environment Education BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent.
