NY\NJ*
Its a* 6+ month contrac*t for a SQL Server Developer with our direct client
in Lexington, MA. Candidates must be able to come for a face-to-face
interview and they cannot reside further from Massachusetts than the NY/NJ
area.
8+ years experience is required and they must have used SQL Server 2008.
The project focuses on scalability analysis and performance improvement for
a SQL Server based financial system. Currently using SQL Server 2005;
migration to SQL Server 2008 planned for later in 2010 or early 2011.
For scalability analysis, work with the current team to develop test cases,
prepare data sets needed for the test cases, and execute the tests. Includes
coordination with the Loadrunner team for repeatable, scalable testing
For performance improvement, analyze results from the scalability analysis,
identify improvements needed in the database setup/objects, make the needed
changes and re-test to verify improved results
Requires minimum 8 years of large-scale SQL Server experience. Must have
demonstrated experience with transaction systems scaled to at least 2,000
users and warehouse/reporting systems or at least 3TB
Requires expert knowledge of SQL Server 2005 architecture and internals,
expert skills in SQL and T-SQL and demonstrated experience reading and
interpreting SQL query plans and designing high-performance, parallelized
database code
