Work Schedule: *5 day week with flexible hours * Reporting:* Position will report to FedACH Development Manager over New Product Distributed Software* Date Needed:* ASAP * Length of Assignment:* Through the end of 2010 * Responsibilities:* Will join the FedACH Web development team, with focus on J2EE suites of applications. Work environment includes pair programming, collaborative work environment, and iterative development with a high level of team interaction. Primary responsibility will be J2EE development on our Information and Transaction Services applications, including the development of software on file transport utilities, as project tasks dictate. Develop software on WebSphere/Eclipse J2EE platform. Responsible for estimating, tracking, and reporting status on tasks. * Required Skills and Experience: * The person selected will be part of a team developing software for our Information and Transaction Services applications and will have experience with designing solutions crossing multiple platforms and technologies. These projects involve taking an existing project plan and requirements and refining both through active communication with others on the team and project management. The person must have demonstrated excellent application programming and testing skills, project planning skills, and superlative interpersonal and communication skills. Specifically: Require 8+ of information services experience to include 5 years application development and testing experience in a distributed environment. Prefer test first experience. Require 5 years J2EE development experience to include JDK 1.5 or higher. Prefer WebSphere development experience. Require 4 years UNIX experience. Require 1+ years experience with JMS and WebSphere MQ. Require formal training in object-oriented methodologies and 4 years experience with object-oriented design Require experience with DB2 and Oracle databases. Prefer experience with Python, Ruby and Perl scripting languages. Prefer experience with any of the following tools Subversion Maven Hudson Ant 9. Development of detailed project plans from higher levels. Demonstrated skill in estimating and tracking progress of tasks, as well as in making recommendations for adjusting project plans as needed. 10. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. 11. Excellent communication skills: Communicates proactively in a project environment with colleagues and management on a wide variety of project issues. Key skills include pair programming experience, issue identification and resolution, status updating, and analyzing and reporting on alternative design solutions. Communicates effectively on complex technical matters to non-technical audiences, including the FRS business community. Communications could include presentations, training, documentation, memos, etc. 12. Strong conflict resolution skills using a win/win approach. 13. Must have experience resolving complex system problems in a team setting, including evaluation of options to determine optimal solution. 14. Demonstrated experience designing solutions in an enterprise environment requiring integration between the mainframe and distributed platforms. 15. Demonstrated experience designing and building solutions requiring complex technologies. 16. Demonstrated experience implementing software and architectural design patterns. * Deliverables: * Ongoing input to the project leadership teams on critical tasks and/or issues. Build of information and transactional services in a J2EE environment as project tasks dictate. Integration of information between the Information and Transaction Services applications. Develop software on WebSphere/Eclipse J2EE platforms. Develop software on file transport utility platform as project tasks dictate.
