Job Requirements & Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years experience architecting large scale data systems.
A minimum of 8 years experience of data architecture with expert data modeling
skills (conceptual, logical, and physical model design and experience with ODS,
EDW, and Data Marts).
7-10 years of experience working in Fixed Income trading and/or investment
management institutions dealing in bonds, swaps, futures and other instruments.
Solid RDBMS knowledge of Oracle and Sybase.
Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools like Informatica and/or
Oracle Warehouse Builder.
Implementation experience with one or more BI/Reporting tools like Business
Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy, and/or OBIEE.
Solid understanding of J2EE and .net integration technologies.
In-depth knowledge with current industry trends related to Data Warehousing,
Data Management and Reporting.
Strong business and communication skills to communicate well at all levels of
the organization.
Strong attention to details with good problem solving skills.
Business knowledge requirements:
Strong understanding of fixed income instruments (bonds, mortgage-backed, etc).
Good understanding of equity instruments and trading.
Good understanding of derivatives trading (swaps and futures).
Good understanding of portfolio and risk metrics management.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Job Description:
As the Data Architect, you will be tasked with the challenging yet exciting
opportunity to help redesign and implement the operational and analytical data
model/schema for the next generation DSS/Reporting systems at the company. The
successful candidate should possess deep technical expertise in database
design, ETL, reporting and analytics and will have previous end to end
implementation experience of large data systems. The candidate must also have
modeling experience of financial products with a strong background and
knowledge in the finance/investment industry. Fixed-income and asset
management background will be an ideal match.
Responsibilities:
Establish, define, and communicate data architecture guidelines, standards, and
best practices.
Direct the discovery process and collaborate with the business analysts, FEs,
and software engineers to translate business requirements for each operational
subject area into an unified technical architecture vision and implementation
plan.
Establish and own the data dictionary, data repository, and data
governance/stewardship.
Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data
warehouse.
Define and direct the implementation of data organization hierarchies and
structures (e.g., ODS, EDW, Data Marts).
· Define and direct the ETL process including data capture, data
quality, and loading.
· Design and direct the information access, delivery, and presentation
of the DW data.
