Recent experience in the financial industry a must. The candidate should be a self-motivated individual with good communication skills that works effectively as an individual contributor as well as a solid team-player. Responsibilities will include enhancing and maintaining existing Java/Sybase code, designing and developing new financial applications, and interacting with business users, technology people, and senior management. In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills as there will be components of user support necessary for the role. *REQUIREMENTS:* Ideal candidate should have: *Solid Computer Science fundamentals:* - Good understanding of software engineering principles behind distributed high-performance software architectures are required. - Strong hands-on coding skills are a must. - Knowledge with risk technology, particularly in the area of Credit Risk, is a HUGE plus. *JAVA: * * *- Solid Experience in Java J2EE (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, JMS) - Experience with Java Server side programming, development of Java Web based applications and back-end batch applications. - Weblogic, Spring, Hibernate, Struts, and other frameworks *DATABASE/UNIX:* - Sybase (Stored Procedures, T-SQL, Batch Processing, BCP, etc.) - Extensive experience with UNIX Scripting including KSH, PERL , ISQL, etc. - Client has specified that the ability to work quickly with PERL is desirable. - SYBASE Application Programming for both Batch and online distributed processes.
