Position title - UNIX Operations Run & Build Engineer
Role Summary/Purpose - Senior UNIX Systems Administrator to provide
technical Run and Build support in a team environment for Compute
Systems (Sun Solaris, Veritas Volume & Cluster Manager, Zones & LDOMs)
and related IT infrastructure
Essential Responsibilities -
* Install, configure, test, diagnose, performance management, document
and support components such as operating systems, major software
subsystems and program products.
* Specialize in virtualization solutions for mid range platforms
(Solaris Zones, LDOMs)
* Specialize in Clustering and High Availability solutions ( Veritas
Volume Manager -VVM, Sun Volume Manager -SVM, Veritas Cluster Services -VCS)
* Hands on experience on Sun high end hardware (10k, 15k, 25k, M-Series)
* Unix Shell and Perl Scripting experience
* Exposure to automation, monitoring and scheduling tools like Opsware,
HP OpenView and Autosys.
* Good understanding of NFS, NAS and SAN Storage.
* Good understanding of critical networking elements like Firewalls,
NAT, Routers, Proxies (Bluecoat) and Load Balancers (F5).
* Excellent exposure to UNIX/Break Fix and handling Bridge calls during
Incidents.
* Promote team cohesion and execution of team decisions.
* Identify and document standards and strategy.
* Review all installed software/hardware configurations to ensure
optimum reliability and performance.
* Coordinate and manage multiple projects across cross-functional and
geographically dispersed teams in the client server environment.
* Conduct root cause analysis of incidents to fix and improve processes.
* Conduct planning meetings with technical teams, vendors and other
businesses to determine project requirements, scope, priorities, etc.
* Perform all other assigned tasks.
* Interfaces with other systems, internal/external checks, controls and
outputs.
* Interfaces with clients to provide ongoing project status.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in Information Systems.
* Demonstrated expertise supporting Sun Hardware (10k, 15k, 25k, M-Series)
* Demonstrated expertise supporting high availability clusters
(Virtualization Zones and LDOMs, Veritas VCS and VVM)
* Demonstrated skills in project management.
* Strong advocate of defining/conforming to standards for support
processes and procedures.
* Demonstrated skills in oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
* Strong team/customer focus.
* Strong problem diagnostics skills.
Job Location : Hyderabad,bangalore
Experience - 5-10 yrs
