You will be responsible for day to day deployment activities for applications that are being managed by the DSU (Deployment Services Utility) team. Deployments will be managed by creating Bladelogic packages and jobs and promoting them through the deployment lifecycle. *Overview of the Role / Responsibilities:* Reporting into DSU Operations group within GIS Production Management Release & Deployment, the Bladelogic Deployment Engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert-level position created in line with strategy to deliver an enterprise wide production management organization. You will be working in the DSU operations team to execute deployment operations using the Bladelogic tool capability to support our code, build and deployment processes. The DSU team is also responsible for the production lockdown strategy, working closely with the DSU tools team. *The key remit of the role is to:* . Primarily involved in rollout of new software, product or process from development to live environments using Bladelogic. . Plan applications deployments in co-operation with project manager . Develop and oversees well-defined implementation plans for any production changes or projects . Development and deployment of Bladelogic application packaging solutions . Assist with the on-boarding of the applications into the Bladelogic tool . Bladelogic tool support . Support of DSU Deployment Management processes . Development of application support functions in the Bladelogic tool . Define and agree service level requirements & metrics for overall environment support with project managers . Overall responsible for managing the quality and stability of application environments . Ensuring strict process adherence with regard to audit and compliance . Stay up to date with market benchmarks/standards and service offerings . Providing continuous suggestions for various improvements with regard to performance, capacity sizing, better utilization of the hardware/software available resources *Experience/Background:* - Detailed high-level knowledge of at least two or more of the following Operating systems (Solaris, Linux, Windows, AIX) - Significant experience with scripting technologies (shell, PERL , python) - Must have experience with the full lifecycle of software development, including, participating in the design and implementation of a complex multi-tiered application - Experience with Operations Support or Application Support functions highly desirable Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
