*Title: Protocol Coordinator* ** ***Location: Skillman, NJ* ***Duration: Contract to Perm* *Interview Process: ** Phone and IN PERSON* *Bill Rate: Open* *Full Description:* The Role As our client pursues developing standards for its client facing interfaces and protocols, there is a need for a team to focus on evaluating and contributing to protocol standards, including wire formats and data schemas for the demanding requirements of real-time market data. A successful candidate will lead this effort for our client for its data products. Tasks include reviewing requirements, participating and contributing to standards committees, coordination with vendors, and integration with clients. They are moving to open standards/ open source environment where they will be providing analytics through the terminal in real time. In the past, they were actively against O/S before but this is an attempt to steal market share from their competitors. The biggest competitor is Thompson Reuters. For one all encompassing price, now a subscriber can get all contributed data and 3rd party sources such as P&L calculations and, Yoh calcs, etc. Larger Financial firms such as Morgan Stanley & Goldman Sachs can afford to make these real time analytics but smaller firms could not. This is where the customer base comes from. Basically this position creates the standards/ protocol for how the data is delivered and collected through the enterprise system. These requirements are a much higher standard. Standardizing how computers speak to each other. This is more of a BA than a coder. PGM and AMQP (Advanced Messaging Qual Protocol) are the high performance protocols most necessary for the project. Web based protocol latency's are too slow. Looking to have experience from a protocol standardization project which he called a request for commitment. IEEE creates the protocols. Companies that are highly sought after: RTI, 29 West, Tibco or Wombat 29 West was bought by Informattica and Wombat by Nimza Qualifications - 10+ years experience with transport protocol design and support - 5+ years active development experience (C++ preferred) - Financial market data experience - Experience with transport middleware and protocols (e.g. UDP, TCP, PGM, AMQP) - Tibco Software, 29West, Wombat, RTI * * ****Please provide 2 professional references with resume**** Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
