We are looking for a *Senior Java Middleware Developer - Jersey City, NJ. *This is for a* *Long term* *contract position. The hourly rate is DOE. * * * * *JOB description: * As a Senior Java middleware developer, you will be expected to design and build components for a ground-up data consolidation and distribution service, in support of our IT configuration management initiative. The subject areas in which our team operates (and on which you would be expected to acquire proficiency on), are: • IT Configuration Management • Automated discovery of server configuration • SAN/NAS/Backup configuration and management Your core focus will be on building middleware, in the following areas: • Heavy data access from a traditional RDBMS, a federated ‘virtual’ database, basic API-pull data sources, or messaging • Metadata-driven consolidation of the source data into a logical data model • Distribution of the data through web services or messaging Additionally, you will be expected to build UI components that interact with our middleware, through either direct object model access or web services. Your experience must cover traditional Java application development, as well as data access and manipulation. Knowledge of data access optimization techniques, query optimization, and RDBMS in general is very important. Background in the following is helpful: • Web services (e.g. Axis).
