The National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) is seeking a competitive bid for * 1* seasoned Developer for a *three-six month* possible contract-to-hire opportunity. The positions will be responsible for delivering successful Java and Perl-based solutions within the application development area for the NMDP. *. * ** A. Candidate Role This RFQ requires a resource to temporarily join our staff with the possibility of joining the IT staff as a fulltime staff member. Any resource submitted for this position must have the following skills: · Advanced software development skills in Java and Perl application development with use of related technologies, concepts and products such as EJB 2.0/3.0, and JSF. Strong SQL skills, CGI experience and Unix experience is also required. C experience is also helpful. · Advanced knowledge of the development life cycle including testing process and methods, variable programming fundamentals, conditional execution, data structures, compilation and debugging tools · Proven organizational, analytical, and creative problem solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. *Experience:* · 4 years technical work experience in a software development environment that required advanced Java and Perl programming on web or client/server applications, working independently and in a team-based environment. · 1 year of use cases and UML required. · Experience coordinating multiple software development resources or teams. · Experience working with relational databases (Sybase, Oracle, or SQL Server). *Education:* · Bachelors degree in Computer Science; Engineering, Math or Business with an emphasis on Management Information Systems, or related technical field.
