C#/.Net heavy* *Basic Technologies: * *ASP.net, VB.net, C#, AJAX, JavaScript/JQuery, and XML.* Software Engineer * * PURPOSE OF THE JOB Client is seeking an experienced and team-oriented Software Engineer II to develop new and exciting technologies using the Microsoft’s .NET Framework 3.5. The perfect candidate is energetic, self-motivated, and enjoys being a key contributor in a fast-paced environment. Decision factors will be based on how well the individual works in a team environment and the strength of technical skills. Primary development will focus solely on web-based enterprise applications, with secondary tasks to include assisting other developers, contributing to software architecture, and assisting in the development of software standards. Experience with Windows Mobile/CE development and the .NET compact framework is a real plus. Applicants should be familiar with the software development life-cycle and should feel comfortable working in an n-tier development environment. Candidates should have strong written, verbal, and communication skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-wide web applications using ASP.net, VB.net, C#, AJAX, JavaScript/JQuery, and XML. 2. Knowledge of application performance tuning regarding load balancing and memory/data management. 3. Design, develop and maintain n-tier business and data tiers including learning a custom framework built in the .NET 3.5 framework. 4. Understands IIS 7 including management and setup. 5. Able to develop using newer language and technology features of the .NET framework including WCF services, LINQ, and Lambda Expressions. 6. Good understanding of SQL and Stored Procedures, Triggers, and related database skills (Progress experience is a plus). 7. Keeping current with new technologies and software methodologies related to the Microsoft software development platform. 8. Create and maintain code libraries and documentation. 9. Analyzing, tracking and fixing defects in current applications written in ASP.net, VB.net, & C#. * * KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years software development experience using ASP.net using C#, VB.net and related software development tools, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Understands the .NET framework version 2.0 & 3.5. 3. Skilled with working in an n-tier development environment. 4. Understands the software development life-cycle. 5. Strong foundation in object oriented programming. 6. Knowledge of web development, HTTP, CSS, and JavaScript, and browser compatibility. 7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 8. Ability to work in a team-based environment. 9. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). 10. Knowledge of SQL queries and database transactions including standard CRUD operations, SQL database development. 11. Ability to provide technical documentation on development code. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * * 1. Experience with XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, and related technologies. 2. JQuery. 3. Screen scraping / web crawling technologies. 4.
