Client is looking for a *SQL Server Developer for Herndon, VA* .This is a 6+ months Contract *Description* Developer II performs medium complexity (i.e. application modules) analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects encountered during various testing cycles. *Responsibilities:* Design & development of software using primarily PL/SQL batch processing. PL/SQL UNIT tests, and documenting design and testing results. Design & document processes and procedures for application deployment. Follow existing processes and procedures for application deployment. Work with various teams to determine software requirements. Provide metrics and project planning updates for the development effort. Provide technical expertise and lead junior developers as required. Be on a 24x7 rotation to provide tier-3 application support *Qualifications:* Must-Have Skills: Six or more years experience developing and maintaining PL/SQL code. PL/SQL Development experience of at least 3 years must be within the most recent three year period. Expertise in Application Development with knowledge of full software development life cycle. Understanding of Database deployment architectures. Understanding of change management and automation/repeatability. Skills should include working with tools such as Ant, Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest. Demonstrated experience in working through production environment deployments. Strong knowledge and use of development, methodologies, standards and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent teaming and leadership skills. Oracle 10G *Nice to have Skills:* Ability to multi-task and§ provide expertise for multiple development teams across concurrent project tasks. Ability to provide technical expertise to junior team members and§ consult with other application developers to tune and performance test new and existing code base. Knowledge of DOORS and UCM is a plus.
