*Duration : One Year* *Responsibilities and Duties:* Translates project plan information, team objectives and deliverables. Responsible for database design and maintaining database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges). Proficiency in database tuning and performance monitoring. Transforms logical to physical designs. Proficiency in installation, configuration and upgrading of DB2 server software and related products Tuning of SQL code and assisting developers in writing and tuning SQL queries. Providing Production support of large, 24/7 DB2 UDB database supporting online applications Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Strong experience troubleshooting production problems Scripting for database monitoring and to automating routine tasks. *Technical Experience required:* *3 + years experience with a Financial systems background for a LARGE financial institution**.* At least *7+ years technical expertise as a DB2 DBA* with performance tuning experience. Knowledge of XML, J2EE app servers (*Websphere*, *Weblogic,* Jboss), Java and various Unix/Linux operating systems. Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal and presentation skill.
