*Position: ETL/DataStage Architect (**Telephonic Hire**)*

*Location: Chicago, IL*

*Duration: 6+ Months*



*We are looking for a very experienced ETL Architect.*

*Extensive experience with IBM DataStage preferable, although a similar ETL
tool will work.*

*Datastage/ Informatica and/or Cognos preferred. *



Experience working with databases like DB2; excellent working knowledge of
SQL.

Ability to diagnose performance issues and provide solutions to improve
performance.

Proactive in planning for new releases, patches and fixpacks and their
impact on current applications regarding performance.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as excellent
diagnostic and problem solving abilities.

The ability to work independently in a demanding and complex environment to
effectively address multiple priorities simultaneously.

Flexibility in adapting to changing project requirements and demonstrate
aptitude for acquiring knowledge.

Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing solutions, including reporting tools,
dashboard tools, query tools, ETL tools, and relational database design and
implementation strategies.

Ability to apply standard warehousing techniques to design and build
warehouse architectures that optimize these key components: report
performance, performance of nightly updates, data quality, data
availability, flexibility for ad-hoc requests (detail and summary), and
reusability of database and ETL components.

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, draw valid
conclusions and solve problems in a timely and accurate manner.

Establish key monitors to insure performance SLAs are met by analyzing,
interpreting and summarizing performance data and metrics.

Background in capacity planning, specifically interpreting application usage
patterns and trends as well as volumetric data growth.

Review existing collection and publication of metrics and identify areas for
improvement and new opportunities in the areas of performance and system
trends.

Proactively identify top performance bottlenecks and work to resolve those
issues quickly.

Review, develop and implement strategies that create opportunities for
system performance tuning and capacity optimization efforts.
