As Senior Systems Administrator, you will serve the IT needs of Engineers in the fast-paced, demanding work environment that is a large-scale modern telecommunications hardware and software development lab. Ability to assess macro approaches to systems utilization as well as an attention to detail for troubleshooting is crucial. Duties will range widely from physical (some equipment installation) in nature to virtual (traditional console-based systems administration), as you assist your colleagues with continuing efforts to maximize overall efficiency of your team\'s infrastructure, lab resources, and utilization of engineers’ systems and equipment. Most of your focus will be directed toward providing robust, scalable, automated, infrastructure systems, debugging a wide range of issues brought to you by the client community, and providing subject matter expertise to your team. Senior Systems Administrator Job Duties ⁃ Build, maintain and troubleshoot systems supported on multiple platforms and designed for various uses in the labs. ⁃ Prioritize and fulfill customer requests from Engineers. ⁃ Work with clients, colleague team and your Technical Support Manager to identify areas in which lab systems use can be improved and work to implement measures of standardization. ⁃ Work with IT and Engineering to ensure that lab systems keep pace with the platform choices and performance requirements the Company ⁃ Will primarily be serving in one of San Jose, CA, USA but may be leveraged to remotely assist other labs in other locations, depending on the need. ⁃Resolve tickets submitted by clients that fall within subject matter expertise.
