Name of Company-Connexion Technologies Job Location-111 Corning Road, Suite 250, Cary, NC 27518 Position Title-Solaris/UNIX Administrator Budget Approval-Yes Contract duration-2 months initially (Chance for renewal) Can a hiring decision be made within 48 hours-Yes Culture/Size of Company-They have been named #84 on the Inc. 500’s list. Perks of job/Selling points/benefits of company (that stand out)-They have grown over 1,700% in a three year period. They have been on the Inc. 500’s list for 3 years. They promote from within and reward hard work (Production is key)! They also have been voted the best place to work for in the Triangle. How many other firms are working on this position (who are they)-None. This is a new manager and he has only given this to us. How long have they been trying to fill this position-Just opened today. Is this a new position or a replacement (if replacement, why did that person leave?)-New Interview process (How many people, titles, what's involved)-Phone screen with the VP of Tech. Operations, Director of Operations (Tier 3) and a Senior Principal Engineer. Chance someone could be hired off of the phone but more likely an in person interview would ensue. Job Responsibilities-This person would have to travel to one of their Florida (satellite) locations for a week and perform UNIX responsibilities there (Expenses would be covered by Connexion). This person would also be involved with inspecting and improving infrastructure for UNIX and Solaris. This person would be auditing the system, providing OS and hardware platform evaluations revisions. This person would be providing security assessments, patches, upgrades, documentation (CONSULTANT MUST HAVE EXCELLENT WRITTEN/VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS-MUSTN’T BE TENTATIVE ABOUT MAKING SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS), deployment of high level operations, as well as submitting extensive verbal/written report regarding Connexion’s current UNIX state and improvements that are needed. Linux is highly preferred and if the candidate has it, it will be used for a few weeks with aforementioned duties. This person will work with vendors to determin upgrade path and patch-ability. Vendor applications will need to be researched to verify patch and or upgradeability.
