Job Description:
*Job Summary:*
The DBA is responsible for the participating in the development, maintenance
and support of client Database systems. This position calls for a hands-on
contributor for the database administration of the development, maintenance
and production database systems and requires basic knowledge of the team’s
relational database management skills. Jr. DBA's are responsible for the
assigned database administration tasks. This includes entry level
maintenance and support of Database systems.
*Responsibilities:*
§ Systems on-call support:
DBA On-call responsibilities including working off hours,
some holidays and weekends as determined by the team’s on-call rotation
schedule
§ Database maintenance responsibilities:
Database maintenance responsibilities to ensure database
access, performance, security, and back- up/recovery is optimal and
available at all times
§ Systems troubleshooting duties:
Participate in troubleshooting system errors and working
efficiently to resolve issues and mitigate system downtime
§ Database upgrades tasks:
Implement software and patches including working off hours,
holidays and weekends
*Qualifications:*
§ Entry level training or experience in Database systems
administration and/or managing Database schema and data - (SQL, Sybase,
Oracle)
§ Basic application development knowledge or experience
§ Experience in UNIX operating systems
