Duration: 3 months Location: DC Rate: $45 *Job Summary: R & D for model risk management for Fannie Mae's mortgage business and capital market. Data extraction, mining, summary, and preparation for various modeling and business units Ad hoc analytics in response to frequent inquiries from senior management and capital market room Qualifications: Degree in statistics, computer science, or other relevant analytical disciplines 5+ years of professional experience in financial modeling and/or software development Strong and current SAS experience Solid experience with at least one flavor of UNIX environment Strong and current experience with relational SQL databases such as Oracle Knowledge of one or more of scripting languages such as shell, Perl, etc Knowledge in mortgage business and/or financial mathematics highly desired . Day-to-day duties: Develop large, complex applications, primarily in SAS/UNIX that prepare large volumes of mortgage data for model development usage to support multiple business units. Data extraction, cleansing according to business rules, aggregation according to business rules and reporting are key functions of these applications. These applications must have built-in reports that support: 1) control reviews, 2) data quality reviews and feedback loop to source systems, and business SME certification reviews.
