Client. is implementing an enterprise information management (EIM) program
to promote enterprise
sharing of Wheels' data assets to support our growing fleet management
business. To that end we are looking
for a resource to work with Wheels' Information Architecture team to
implement Wheels' enterprise data
architecture vision, which captures data from internal and external sources
to build operational data stores,
master data subject areas, an enterprise data warehouse and enterprise data
marts.
The individual should have strong analytical, problem-solving, collaborative
skills and an ability to work in a
fast-paced environment with changing priorities. The resource will be
involved in gathering requirements,
designing, building, unit testing, implementing, documenting and supporting
one or more areas of the data
architecture vision, which will leverage one or more of the skill sets
listed below. The candidate must ensure
solution designs meet business functional requirements and address
performance requirements, availability and
security challenges as well. Additionally, the resource will need to draw on
their experiences to provide input
and assistance with standards, methodologies, design patterns and reusable
components in the areas listed
below:
Ø Modeling (must have experience with at least one of the following)
Logical and physical enterprise data modeling
Logical and physical dimensional data modeling
Logical and physical canonical data modeling
Ø Data mapping and transformations / data lineage (some experience
required)
Ø Data Integration skills (some experience strongly preferred)
Classic ETL type data integration to populate our data hub, ODs, data
warehouse or data marts
"Emerging" Data integration, which includes external data exchange and
service integration
Ø Database Skills
Proficiency with SQL grammarlsyntax is a must
Application DBA / Database developer
(experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server is strongly preferred)
· PLISQL coding and/or T-SQL coding - stored procedures and/or
triggers
(must have direct experience in one or both, or experience that translates)
· Ability to implement efficient databases, including specifying
physical characteristics,
designing efficient partitioning and indexes (nice to have)
Ø Data Quality skills (nice to have)
o Data Profiling
o Data Cleansing
Parsing
Standardization
Validation
Enrichment
Unification
De-duplication
Survivorship
Ø Metadata
o Semantics and taxonomies (nice to have)
o Data dictionary
