The solution architect (SA) is responsible for designing and leading the implementations of the architectures for one or more projects. The SA understands the business objectives of the projects, and is able to design optimized solutions that solve multiple business problems in a cost effective manner. Experience in evaluating technologies and packaged solutions, with the ability to weigh the pros/cons of technology based on strategic advantages, integration aspects, cost, and schedule. Broad knowledge of multiple technologies and platforms. Must have the capability to work with different team members and other groups. The SA must be able to communicate the architecture solutions and the benefits to various team members. Experience with Middleware technologies, SOA, business intelligence, data warehousing, data marts, ETL, and OLAP tools. *Must understand:* Data center and application deployments, server configurations and deployments, and data center and co-location planning and deployment Technical Operations and Disaster Recovery Virtualization and Storage technologies.
